2026 TCS New York City Marathon Drawing
The application to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon non-guaranteed entry drawing will be open from February 4 - 25, 2026. A drawing for accepted entries will take place on March 4, 2026.
Run in 2026
NYRR Member-Only Second-Chance Drawing for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon
Current members of New York Road Runners who meet the eligibility criteria and apply to the non-guaranteed general entry drawing will automatically be entered into the NYRR Member-Only Second-Chance Drawing on March 4, 2026. Members selected in the second-chance drawing will be automatically charged the full registration fee.
9+1 Program
NYRR members who, in 2025, run nine qualifying NYRR races and volunteer at one qualifying event are eligible to claim guaranteed non-complimentary entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon during the guaranteed entry claim period from February 4 - 25, 2026. To be considered a member, you must have an active membership by December 31, 2025.
5K and 10K Philanthropic Memberships
NYRR Philanthropic Members at the 5K and 10K level receive guaranteed entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon and VIP runner hospitality, plus guaranteed entry to the next United Airlines NYC Half and the RBC Brooklyn Half (based on each member's membership cycle) in thanks for their support of NYRR's vision to build healthier lives and stronger communities through the transformative power of running. Charities
Runners can add meaning to their miles and earn guaranteed entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon by running with one of our official charity partners. Official Charity Partners will be announced in spring 2026.
NYRR Team for Kids
Fundraisers get guaranteed entry, expert coaching and a virtual training platform, VIP race day perks, a TFK singlet, and the opportunity to help keep kids and communities healthy and fit. Registration will open on November 2, 2025. More info coming soon!
NYRR Team for Climate
By joining NYRR Team for Climate, you are pledging to help reduce the carbon footprint of the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon and support NYRR on its journey toward Net Zero by 2040. More info coming soon!
International Tour Operators
Non-full-time residents of the United States can book their 2026 marathon package with guaranteed entry through an Official International Tour Operator. Marathon packages can include hotel and/or flight to New York City. More info coming soon!
Virtual Guaranteed Entry
Runners who are selected for and complete the 2025 Virtual TCS New York City Marathon - Guaranteed Entry tier will be shipped a Virtual TCS New York City Marathon finisher medal and will earn guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon (claimed during the guaranteed entry claim period from February 4 - 25, 2026).
Time-Qualifying Standards
Runners who meet time standards in 2025 at specific NYRR races are eligible for guaranteed non-complimentary entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. Runners who qualify at an eligible NYRR race can claim their guaranteed non-complimentary entry during the claim period from February 4 - 25, 2026. NYRR offers a limited number of entries to athletes who meet the time qualifying standards at a certified full marathon race that is not held by NYRR. All athletes who meet the time qualifying standards are invited to apply, however submission of a qualifying time does not guarantee entry. Time-qualifying runners can apply for guaranteed non-complimentary entry during the Non-NYRR TQ application period from February 4 - 11, 2026.
Completed 15-Plus
Runners who finish their 15th New York City Marathon are eligible for guaranteed non-complimentary entry in future years. These runners can claim their guaranteed non-complimentary entry during the claim period from February 4 - 25, 2026.
Cancellation in 2025
Entrants who canceled their entry to the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon according to the cancellation guidelines and meet the guaranteed entry eligibility criteria are eligible to claim guaranteed non-complimentary entry to the 2026 race during the guaranteed entry claim period from February 4 - 25, 2026.
