Panel Events Highlighting the Importance of Inclusivity in Sports
This week, New York Road Runners hosted two panel events to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June and Disability Pride Month in July: “Investing in Race Day: Saving Up to Go the Distance” hosted by Achilles International and "KICK: A Discussion on Queer Running, Identity, and Love" panel discussion led by the Front Runners New York LGBTQ+ Pride Run.
The Long Run and the Decade That Made the Marathon Cool

He recounts how the idea emerged from a Bicentennial celebration concept championed by George Spitz and was shaped by Ted Corbitt’s vision.
Dickie Reinicke: “I'm So Proud to Be Among Other Really Great Nonbinary Runners”
To continue our celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride Month we’re spotlighting nonbinary runner Dickie Reinicke, who ran their first NYRR race in the nonbinary division at the RBC Brooklyn Half and won in 1:18:17. Dickie moved to New York a year and a half ago and joined Brooklyn Track Club as a way to meet people and get integrated into the NYC running community.
