NYRR Run for the Future
EMPOWERING YOUNG WOMEN THROUGH RUNNING SINCE 2011
New York Road Runners Run for the Future is a FREE, six-week summer program that introduces NYC high school young women to running—step by step. Through a holistic approach that combines movement, education, and community, participants gain the tools and support they need to meet their self-care and physical activity goals. They train together, complete their first 5K, and build confidence and motivation to believe in every step. Graduates become part of a supportive alumnae network that continues to uplift and inspire long after the program ends.
Who Is This For?
- Rising 10th through 12th grade NYC high school young women*
- No running or sports experience is necessary. Participants do not need to identify as runners or athletes—just be willing to take their first step.
Applications are open February 19–April 17, 2026.
