TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance

The 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance took place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Halls 3B, 3D, and 3E, at 11th Avenue at West 36th Street (Map), on October 31– November 2.

Runners must visit the Expo in person to pick up their race materials and must bring photo ID and their runner confirmation form with them.

Runners must select a time slot to pick up their materials; selection was available in runners' NYRR dashboards until Saturday, November 2 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

The TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance is one of the country's largest running expositions, with an array of New Balance gear and accessories including the official TCS New York City Marathon collection, and course amenities offered by our partners. There are also numerous vendors and exhibitors, the Runners' Wall featuring all 50,000+ registered entrants, the NYRR Running Lab featuring tips and insights from our coaches, and more. 

 

Hours of Operation and Time Slots for Bib Pickup

 

Please select a time slot to pick up your bib number by logging into your NYRR dashboard and following the instructions below.

  • Thursday, October 31: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. bib pickup closes at 7:30 p.m. Time slots for race materials pickup: 
  • 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • 4:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, November 1: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. bib pickup closes at 7:30 p.m. Time slots for race materials pickup:
  • 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
  • 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

How to Select a Time Slot

 

To select your date and time to pick up your bib number at the Expo, sign in to your NYRR account, navigate to your dashboard, and click on Registered Events. Registration to select your date and time for bib pickup will remain open until Saturday, November 2, at 4:00 p.m. ET.

In the listing for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, you'll see a heading labeled Race Number Pickup Time; below that heading, click "Add" and you should see a pop-up window that presents you with your Expo time slot options.

At the Expo, you'll receive your race number ("bib") and your race shirt. If you've selected the bag pre-check option, you will receive that bag at the Expo as well and can drop that bag at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Getting to the Expo

 

Subway and Train
The Javits Center is accessible via several subway lines. The closest station is 34th Street–Hudson Yards on the 7 train line. Also nearby is 34th Street–Penn Station, accessible via the 1, 2, 3, A, C, and E trains, as well as via Amtrak, the Long Island Rail Road, and NJ Transit.

From these stations, visitors can walk to the Javits Center entrance at West 35th Street and 11th Avenue or take the M34 MTA crosstown bus (see below).

Ferry
From New Jersey, take the Midtown Ferry to West 39th Street. Visit the NY Waterway web site for routes and schedules.

From Staten Island, take NYC Ferry's St. George route from St. George ferry terminal on Staten Island to Midtown West/Pier 79 in Manhattan. Please note: This ferry does not take the same route as the Staten Island Ferry, and a $2.75 fare is required to ride.

MTA Bus
Take the M34 crosstown to 11th Avenue; walk to West 35th Street and 11th Avenue.

NYRR Running Lab

 

Visit the NYRR Running Lab at the TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance and get valuable insight for running your best 26.2 ever. The Running Lab offers strategies and tools for planning your race, including:

NYRR Course Strategy Stage
NYRR coaches will lead runners through a mile-by-mile course strategy session, including race-day tips and insights on how to manage the 26.2-mile tour through the five boroughs. Sessions are held every hour on the hour at the NYRR Course Strategy Stage. A Spanish presentation will be held at 12:00 p.m. each day on the Course Strategy Stage.

An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be available for course strategy every day (see chart below for timings).

Stop by to connect with members of the NYRR Pace Team to help you achieve your goal finish time with an evenly paced effort. Free NYRR Pace Bands Powered by Tata Consultancy Services will be available at the NYRR Running Lab in five-minute finish-time increments from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00. p.m.

Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) Speaker Series
Experts from HSS will give tips for getting to the start line healthy and properly recovering after the race. Sessions are held from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Running Lab Stage.

To ensure equal communication access for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing individuals, the TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance will have American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters available during the following hours:

  • Thursday, October 31: 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (Course Strategy Session with ASL at 2:00 p.m.)
  • Friday, November 1: 3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. (Course Strategy Session with ASL at 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 2: 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. (Course Strategy Session with ASL at 2:00 p.m.)

Lactation Operations

 

To ensure runners are aware of the accommodations and preparation for medical device operations on-course, NYRR will have an information booth and lactation station available for use at the TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance.

For the TCS New York City Marathon, there will be dedicated lactation spaces that provide pumping accommodations and amenities at the start village and finish line, as well as along the course at miles 8, 17, and 22. Medela breast pumps will also be available, giving participants easy options for pumping. Personal breast pumps will be transported from the start to the finish lactation tents. No expressed milk will be transported at this time.
