Important Volunteer Updates

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with New York Road Runners.

When people cancel their volunteer opportunities, they become available again on the website. We do not have a wait list for volunteer opportunities.

Reminder emails are sent out to registered volunteers 7–10 days before an event and these emails normally generate cancellations.

Key Dates

You cannot register to run and volunteer at the same event. Please plan accordingly.

New volunteer opportunities will become available based on the following schedule:

• July 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. ET: October-December races (advanced registration)
• July 16, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. ET: October-December races (general registration)
• September 8, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. ET: TCS New York City Marathon Week opportunities (including Expo)

As a reminder, NYRR does not accept walk-up volunteers and there is no on-site volunteer registration.

Helpful Tips

• We do not have a wait list for volunteer opportunities.
• If there is a race at which you would like to volunteer and the volunteer opportunities are full, check the Volunteer Opportunities page early in race week.
