Important Volunteer Updates

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with New York Road Runners.

When people cancel their volunteer opportunities, they become available again on the website. We do not have a wait list for volunteer opportunities.

Reminder emails are sent out to registered volunteers 7–10 days before an event and these emails normally generate cancellations.

Key Dates

Volunteer opportunities at races through March 2026 are full. Additional volunteer opportunities at these events will be added if operational needs arise.

You cannot register to run and volunteer at the same event. Please plan accordingly.

New volunteer opportunities will become available based on the following schedule:

• February 2, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. ET: United Airlines NYC Half Expo
• February 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. ET: RBC Brooklyn Half race-day
• February 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. ET: April–June races (advance registration)
• February 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. ET: April–June races (general registration)

As a reminder, NYRR does not accept walk-up volunteers and there is no on-site volunteer registration.

Helpful Tips

• We do not have a wait list for volunteer opportunities.
• If there is a race at which you would like to volunteer and the volunteer opportunities are full, check the Volunteer Opportunities page early in race week.
