These volunteers are the smiling faces who greet race participants when they arrive on site. Volunteers will act as representatives for NYRR, assisting with runner lines, answering runner questions and directing runners around race day central. After the race has started, you may be reassigned to a different area. Many of our volunteer opportunities require standing for a prolonged period of time. Volunteers will assist with the set up and break down of the amenities area in the finish walk off. When runners finish, volunteers will hand out food and fluids to all finishers, while ensuring the area stays clean. At the start, they will assist with loading the corrals, ensuring all runners go into the appropriate corral. Volunteers will then be moved to assist with the finish walk off area, keeping traffic flowing and looking out for injured runners. You will be standing for the duration of your shift. Volunteers cheer on runners as well as help to keep runners and park patrons safe. Assist at crosswalks, inform park patrons about the event, and call in an emergencies to the Race Command Center. Jump team volunteers jump in to support wherever they are needed on race day. Volunteers could be asked to assist with baggage or fluid stations, serve as a course marshal, etc. No actual jumping required. We are looking for licensed medical providers and medical students to support our weekly races. Our weekly medical volunteers help out at our finish line medical tent, alongside staff to ensure a safe event. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and updated on your NYRR account.
