Kurt Fearnley of Australia has five New York City Marathon titles to his name (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2014) and his event-record time of 1:29:22 from 2006 stood for many years.

Fearnley has captured 13 medals across five Paralympic Games, including a silver in the marathon and bronze in the 5000 meters at the Rio 2016 Games where he served as Australia’s co-captain. He has also won marathons in London, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seoul, Rome, Paris, Sydney, and Tokyo.
