Club Points
At all NYRR scored races, team awards are available to the top three teams for men (5 runners), women (5 runners) and non-binary (3 runners). In addition, NYRR hosts an annual Club Points series of scored races of varying distances.
Teams can score points at Club Points races in multiple divisions: men, women and non-binary open (all ages, grouped into A, B, and C sub-divisions), as well as men and women age-group divisions for 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+.
Scoring teams in the open division consist of the top five team finishers for men and women and the top three team finishers for non-binary. For the 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ divisions, teams consist of the top three finishers. For races 25km and longer (currently only the TCS New York City Marathon), teams consist of the top three finishers for all divisions.

Team runners may score in more than one division. For example, a 50-year-old finisher could score in the open, 40+, and 50+ divisions. As in all NYRR scored races, a club's finishing place in a Club Points race is determined by adding the net finish times of the scoring members, as outlined above.
Points are awarded as follows (double points at the NYRR Team Championships):

Clubs accumulate points in each division based on their finishing places in these races. At the end of the year, each club's point totals in the nine best races of the series (the lowest two scores for each club will be automatically dropped) are added to determine the club's overall ranking for the year. At NYRR's annual Club Night, the previous year's top clubs are honored and receive special awards.
At the end of the year, the top two teams in the Open B and Open C divisions will move up a division, while the bottom two teams in the Open A and Open B will move down a division.
NYRR Team Championships
Registration for NYRR Team Championships (Sunday, July 28th) will open to club members ONLY beginning in early spring.
Club members will receive a club/team only email that will contain a private link to register for the NYRR Team Championships. All runners should ensure that their NYRR accounts are affiliated with their current club membership. Should entries remain as of July 9, the race will be opened for registration to non-affiliated runners. Please reach out to your club representative if you have any additional questions or concerns.
In order to score for a team, an entrant must be a member of an established and NYRR-recognized running team and must have completed at least one NYRR scored/qualifying race for that team since (but not including) the previous year’s Team Championships. Furthermore, they may not have competed for that team until at least 90 days after having competed for another team.
If a participating team has not fielded a full team in their division (men’s open, women’s open, non-binary open, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+) at a prior NYRR Club Points race since (but not including) the previous year’s Team Championships, the team may not score in that division at the NYRR Team Championships.
All team categories for the NYRR Team Championships are scored by net time. At the Team Championships, points are doubled in each team category as follows:
- Open: 10 men, 10 women, and 3 non-binary runners score for a team in their respective races
- 40+: 5 men/5 women
- 50+: 3 men/3 women
- 60+: 3 men/3 women
- 70+: 3 men/3 women
