New York Road Runners and iHeartMedia New York Expand Official Broadcast Radio Partnership with Three-Year Deal

New York, July 29, 2025 – New York Road Runners (NYRR), the nonprofit that “runs” New York City producing 60 annual adult and youth races including the TCS New York City Marathon, and iHeartMedia New York today announced a multi-year expansion of their official radio broadcast partnership that will deepen their collaboration and bring even more race-day energy and storytelling to listeners across the city and beyond. The new three-year agreement is part of New York Road Runners’ newly launched content studio, East 89th St Productions, and aims to bring the transformative stories of the running community to iHeartMedia’s millions of listeners across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
As part of the expanded partnership, iHeartMedia will continue to serve as the exclusive radio home of the TCS New York City Marathon through 2027, following its debut as the marathon’s first-ever official broadcast radio partner in 2024. In the new deal, iHeartMedia will also air the NYRR Set the Pace Presented by Peloton podcast, which recently expanded to video, on Sundays year-round, and, for the first time, provide live radio coverage of New York Road Runners’ New Balance 5th Avenue Mile—all on iHeartRadio New York’s 710 WOR, The Voice of New York. In addition, New York Road Runners events and programs will be promoted throughout the year across iHeartMedia’s radio, streaming, and digital platforms.

- First-Ever Radio Broadcast of the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile: Live radio coverage of the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile on 710 WOR AM, with cut-ins from along the course with iHeart personalities. Coverage of the 2025 race will air Sunday, September 7, from noon to 1 p.m. ET.
- Continued Radio Broadcast of the TCS New York City Marathon: Live radio coverage of the TCS New York City Marathon on 710 WOR AM featuring the official world feed broadcast with cut-ins along the course with iHeart personalities. Coverage of the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon will air Sunday, November 2, from 7:30 a.m. to noon ET.
- On-the-Ground Race Week Coverage: iHeartMedia New York talent Garrett Vogel from Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show will run the TCS New York City Marathon for the second consecutive year, sharing his journey with listeners.
- Race Day Fan Engagement: To enhance the spectator experience, iHeartMedia will provide live DJ booths, cheer zones, and sign-making stations to major New York Road Runners races, including the TCS New York City Marathon, New Balance 5th Avenue Mile, and Mastercard New York Mini 10K.
