Sydney Devore
Sydney Devore is a two-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier who will be racing her second TCS New York City Marathon. In 2017, a year prior to her first run in New York, she was a fourth grade teacher in Lakeland, Florida, watching in awe as Shalane Flanagan became the first American to win the women’s open division in 40 years. She was inspired to quit her job and move from Florida to Michigan to begin a new career as a professional runner, training full-time and logging 100-mile weeks.
Devore has since won the U.S. Marathon Championships at the Pittsburgh Marathon in 2018 and Glass City Marathon in 2022, winning the former in her marathon debut.
She is a graduate of the University of Florida.
