Rory Linkletter

Rory Linkletter Canada

Earlier this year, Rory Linkletter became the first Canadian to run sub-60 in the half marathon with his record-breaking performance at the 2026 Houston Half Marathon. He shattered his own national record with a 59:49. He is looking to ride that momentum into his third appearance in the United Airlines NYC Half.

In a career-defining 2025, Linkletter fared well in his home country, winning the Edmonton Half Marathon in 1:03:00 and taking second at the Ottawa Marathon in 2:08:31. His sixth-place finish in Boston was his highest career finish in an Abbott World Marathon Major and his 2:06:49 time in Chicago was the second-fastest performance by a Canadian in history.

Linkletter has represented Canada in the marathon at the 2024 Paris Olympics and in the World Championships marathons in 2022 and 2023. He was a standout collegiate runner at Brigham Young University, including a runner-up performance in the 10,000 meters at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Linkletter moved to Herriman, Utah at the age of 5. In 2017, he ran a 4:16 mile in blue jeans, a world record at the time. He and his wife, Jill, are expecting their third child this summer.
