With a personal-best 10K time of 27:11, Kenya’s Mathew Kimeli is the fastest athlete entered in the 2019 UAE Healthy Kidney 10K. Ethiopia's Mathew Kimeli won the 15th annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K in 2019 in Central Park in 27:45. Kimeli also owns the second fastest UAE Healthy Kidney 10K performance of all-time with his runner-up performance at the 2018 edition of the race in 27:19.He set his lifetime best at the 2017 Birell Grand Prix in Prague, and then went on to better the 28-minute barrier on three further occasions in 2018.
Kimeli, who looks at Olympic 800-meter champion David Rudisha as his mentor, just missed out on a place at the last IAAF World Championships after finishing sixth at the Kenyan Trials in the 10,000 meters.
