Geert Schipper
Geert Schipper is a distinguished Dutch paratriathlete and wheelchair racer. A three-time Paralympian, Schipper earned a silver medal in the paratriathlon at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and a bronze at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Schipper began competing in paratriathlon in 2013, and since then has also taken up wheelchair racing and paracycling. In 2022 he made his marathon debut in Paris, finishing in second place. He followed that up with victories at the 2023 Cape Town Marathon, the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half, and the 2024 Paris Marathon, showing his growing dominance in the distance.
Schipper suffered a spinal-cord injury in a flying accident in 2004. He has become an advocate for athletes with disabilities, founding Sportisleven, an organization that organizes sports clinics and adventure trips for people with a disability.
