Fiona O’Keeffe
In her marathon debut Fiona O’Keeffe ran away from the field and won the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in 2:22:10, smashing the trials record by over three minutes and clocking the fastest debut by an American woman. She went on to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics but was forced to drop out of the marathon early due to injury.
Earlier in 2024 O’Keeffe ran a new personal best in the 10,000 meters at the Night of The 10K PBs in London. She will run her first race since the Olympics at the United Airlines NYC Half, her debut in the event.
At the 2022 Houston Half Marathon O’Keeffe placed fourth running 1:07:42, at the time the fastest debut by an American woman on a record-eligible course. That year she went on to place sixth in the 5,000 meters at the USATF Track and Field Championships before securing silver at the NACAC Championships in the same event, just behind her Team USA teammate Natosha Rogers.
After a successful collegiate career at Stanford University as an eight-time NCAA All-American, O’Keeffe turned professional in 2021. She was a two-time state cross country champion in high school and was the 2014 Gatorade California Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2014.
