Evan Correll
Evan Correll has improved his finishing place at each of the last three editions of the United Airlines NYC Half – finishing fourth in 2022, third in 2023, and second in 2024. He will now look to be at the top of the podium in 2025.
A standout collegiate athlete, Correll became a two-time NCAA 100-meter wheelchair national champion in 2024. In a landmark moment, the race was held at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the first time.
In 2023 Correll represented Team USA at the Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where he won gold in the 5,000 meters and bronze in both the 100 and 400 meters.
Correll grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and was born with caudal regression syndrome, a condition which impairs the development of the lower body. In high school he was a nine-time state champion and is now a senior at the prestigious University of Illinois wheelchair racing program.
