Dayna Pidhoresky
Dayna Pidhoresky won the Canadian Olympic Trials Marathon in October to secure herself a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She also represented Canada in the marathon at the 2017 IAAF World Championships.
Pidhoresky grew up in Tecumseh, Ontario, where she attended a small private Christian school and started running cross-country in her elementary years. She spent the majority of her years at the University of Windsor sidelined with injuries but was able to conclude her collegiate years by placing sixth at the OUA Cross-Country Championships. She went on to win the 2010 Detroit Free Press Half Marathon and finish second at the Canadian Cross Country Championships before deciding to commit to running as her career.
