Daniel Ebenyo
Making his United Airlines NYC Half and New York City debut, Olympian Daniel Ebenyo has been one of Kenya’s top distance runners for the better part of a decade. In January, he placed third in the World Athletics Cross Country Championships, crossing the finish line in 28:45. This marked his third medal at a global championship.
In 2019, he won his half marathon debut in Eldoret, Kenya and has since had great success at the distance, winning races in Laayoune in 2019, Nairobi in 2022, New Delhi in 2023, and Berlin in 2024.
He moved up in distance in 2024 making his marathon debut at the Chicago Marathon with an impressive fifth-place finish.
Ebenyo represented Kenya in the 5,000 meters at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He won silver at the 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships and in the 10,000 meters at both the 2023 World Athletics Championships and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Growing up in rural Kenya, Ebenyo credits his daily 24-kilometer walk to secondary school with building the athleticism that fueled his success.
